Ryanair: Unfreundlichste, ungemütlichste und arroganteste Airline, die ich kenne!

Nach einem Beschwerdeschreiben, das man nur auf Englisch verfassen durfte und nur per Post nach Irland schicken konnte…

Dear Sir or Madam,
I visited my friend in Spain and I just needed hand luggage. On the flight to Alicante the staff in FKB checked my hand luggage before I went through the security control (size and weight). Everything was fine.
On the return I checked the weight of my hand luggage at the baggage drop-off counter and put it in the blue frame where it fitted exactly (as on every Ryanair flight where I used the bag – and it were many).
At the gate a woman let me put my bag in the frame again and it fitted. But she told me she had to measure it with a measuring tape. She fixed the tape on the rolls (which are round and therefore longer then if she had helt the tape in an erect line) and she held it a little bit angular and told me that it would be 60 cm and I had to pay 35 €.
I measured the bag at home and it has 56 cm. Okay I have to confess that one could discuss about the case where it is 1cm oversize and that legally it would be okay but it was the way she treated me. More than disrespectful! After two minutes of discussion I wanted to pay with Visa, which she said did not work. She told me to run to Gate 3 where I would be able to get money. We were at gate 26 and it was merely 800m away. I was there and I didn’t see anything to get money and so I asked at the info desk. They told me that there is no possibility to get money here. I ran back and told it to the woman at the gate. She almost screamed that there is an exchange office to get money at gate 3 and that I should run again. I said I’m already tired of the long sprint but she said I should hurry or she would leave me here and the airplane would depart. Another 2 sprints later I was really exhausted. I came to the gate jogging and not sprinting. She shouted I should hurry more or I stay here. I paid the money and she brought me to the plane. I asked her if I not even receive an apology for this incident and she only said: “It’s your fault to have an oversized bag.” My friend later told me that she also treated other customers like that. She told a woman to put an empty plastic bag into her luggage. A French guy was told that he had to pay for oversize luggage but it fitted in the frame.
It’s not because of the 35€ I write this letter of complaint but because of the lady. I asked for her name but she said her personnel number. When I said I didn’t understand she told me she already said it. It was a small lady with brown hair. The number I have in mind which could be wrong or incomplete is approximately …. It was the flight from Alicante (ALC) to Karlsruhe-Baden-Baden (FKB) on the … departing at 09:55 am.
I recommend you to treat your customers friendlier because I often heard it of my friends or my family that Ryanair staff is very unfriendly and Easyjet staff is much friendlier. Pay attention that you don’t lose your customers! Inconvenience is accepted for a low price but disrespectfulness and unfriendliness not! Because sometimes it seems that costumers are not really welcome.
I don’t expect any refund of money or something but please ensure that the lady in Alicante gets a training how to treat customers or that she won’t have any contact with customers anymore.

Strictly one item of cabin baggage is permitted per passenger. Handbag, briefcase, laptops, shop purchases, camera etc must be carried within your permitted 1 piece of cabin baggage.

The cabin baggage should weigh no more than 10kg and not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. Due to security restrictions certain items cannot be carried in cabin baggage, please find more information on our website www.ryanair.com.

For the safety and convenience of all passengers, cabin baggage must fit underneath the seat or in the overhead compartment. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation without refund and to deny you boarding if you arrive at the boarding gate with more than one item of cabin baggage or if that item exceeds the maximum dimensions.

Das zeigt, dass Ryanair praktisch auf die Kundenzufriedenheit pfeifft. So habe ich das auch empfunden. Boykottieren sollte man das!
